What does an AI receptionist do?

An AI receptionist answers routine business calls using approved business information, captures support requests, requests appointments and passes unresolved calls to a person. ITEXPERT scopes English-language voice-agent pilots for businesses in Karachi and across Pakistan, with phone routing, integrations and handover rules agreed before deployment.

The browser demo is a fictional service-desk simulation. Tickets, bookings and alerts are simulated; it does not connect to a live phone line or production CRM.

Aisha · AI receptionist

Answers from ITEXPERT business facts · Pakistani English

You are calling a fictional ITEXPERT service desk. Report an IT problem, book an assessment, or ask about hours and services, then change your mind halfway through.

Try saying

Aisha’s voice: Neerja · South Asian English (female). Works in any browser or phone.

Fictional demonstration: please use made-up details. The conversation runs in your browser; only the agent’s replies are sent, via ITEXPERT’s server, to Microsoft’s speech service to be read aloud. Our server keeps them only briefly in memory. Call notes reach ITEXPERT only if you choose to share them. Voice input is not available in this browser. Type your replies, or open the page in Chrome or Edge.

Example call

When the caller changes their mind

Real callers correct themselves. Here a fictional caller reports an outage, then realises it is the printer. The details update and the team receives one accurate ticket, not two conflicting ones.

  1. Caller

Hi, this is Sara from Seaview Traders. Our internet is down at the Clifton office.

    Request identified · details captured
  2. Aisha

I am sorry to hear that. How many people are affected? Is work stopped?

  3. Caller

About fifteen people. Nobody can work.

    Priority set: high
  4. Aisha

What is the best number for the engineer to call you back on?

  5. Caller

Actually, sorry — it is the printer, not the internet.

    Detail corrected: issue → printer
  6. Aisha

Thanks, I have updated that. What is the best number to call you back on?

  7. Caller

    0300 1234567.

  8. Aisha

Let me confirm: printer problem at Seaview Traders, Clifton. High priority. Callback to Sara on 0300 1234567. Shall I log it?

  9. Caller

    Yes, please.

What it handles

Routine calls, handled properly

Answers from your business facts

Hours, location, services and policies come from information you approve, not guesses.

Captures complete requests

Collects the issue, company, site, priority and callback details your team needs to act.

Books visits and callbacks

Requests a time within your working hours and records it for confirmation.

Handles changes mid-call

Callers can correct a detail or switch requests without starting over.

Hands over to your team

Recognises when a person is needed and passes on the notes, so nobody repeats themselves.

After-hours and overflow cover

Answers when the line is busy or the office is closed, and queues follow-ups for the morning.

  1. 01

    Share your business details

Services, hours, locations, policies and the requests you want handled.

  2. 02

    Test it as a caller

Call it yourself in the browser and adjust answers until they sound right.

  3. 03

    Connect your line and review

Plan an AI receptionist pilot

Pilot pricing depends on call volume, concurrent calls, phone-system compatibility, integrations, retention requirements and support scope. Request a written quotation; the browser demo does not establish production pricing or availability.

What to prepare

  • Your phone provider or IP PBX, current number routing and expected call volume.
  • Approved services, office hours, locations and answers to common questions.
  • Requests the agent may handle, escalation contacts and actions that require human approval.
  • Calendar or CRM requirements, caller notices and retention requirements.

Checks before going live

  • Test routine questions, unclear requests and corrections with representative callers.
  • Confirm that a caller can reach a person and that the team receives accurate notes.
  • Verify phone routing and each integration in a test environment before enabling live actions.

Related planning: business phone systems, Odoo CRM and helpdesk, and a pilot consultation.

Questions

Before you switch it on

Can we keep our existing phone number?+

ITEXPERT reviews your phone provider and IP PBX before confirming compatibility. Main reception, overflow or after-hours routing is agreed during pilot setup.

What happens when it cannot help?+

It says so, takes a message and hands the call notes to your team. You decide which requests always go to a person.

Can it book appointments or site visits?+

A deployment can request appointments when the agreed calendar or Odoo integration is connected and tested. Your team can require approval before a booking is final. Bookings in this browser demo are simulated.

Are calls recorded?+

For a deployment, recording and transcript retention follow the agreed policy and caller notice. This demo keeps the conversation in browser memory. Agent replies are sent through ITEXPERT's server to Microsoft's speech service and cached briefly in server memory. Call notes reach ITEXPERT only if you choose to share them; browser voice input may use a separate speech provider.

Is this browser demo the same as a live deployment?+

No. The demo follows a fixed, fictional script so you can try the experience. A deployment is configured with your business information, phone system and connected tools.

How much does an AI receptionist cost?+

Pilot pricing depends on call volume, concurrent calls, phone-system compatibility, integrations, retention requirements and support scope. Request a written quotation; the browser demo does not establish production pricing or availability.
